Helios Makerspace

I also volunteer at Helios Makerspace, help with the maintenance of the equipment, promotion and assist people with projects. Helios Makerspace is an open studio that is committed to serve people in the Montreal area. The mission is to provide the tools to the community necessary to materialize an idea, democratize access to tools and increase public participation in science, educate but also learn from others! The equipment ranges from advice, helping hand, welding, metalworking, woodworking, plastic-working, electronics and programming, including access to a laser cutter, 3D printer and specialized workshops. I  love helping out, learning about new projects. showing how to safely use tools and exchanging experiences and ideas.
This article written by Sarah Rubato best describes the making philosophies we follow and the spirit of Helios!

One workshop I recently organized at Helios funded by Spikenzielabs was a Halloween Pumpkin Interactivity Workshop divided into in 2 sessions, 1 for kids and families and 2nd for general public.

During the workshop local TV station CTV came to see some of the pumpkins made by the participants, to view the footage navigate to the link below
